About Me
I am Witham Essex - OFSTED Registered Childminder
My name is Alison. I am 44 years old and I was born in London.
I have lived in Witham since the age of 9, although in my adult years
I have lived in Morayshire Scotland, and Basildon; before returning back to Witham some 20 years ago now.
I live with my partner of 5 years my youngest son age 15 and my youngest daughter age 2.
I have 5 children, 3 step children and 3 grandsons
My eldest daughter is 23 and is mum to my 3 grandsons
My second daughter is 22.
My eldest son is almost 20.
I am extremely easy going in nature, fun to be around, and am extremely organised and efficient.
I am honest, trustworthy and very professional in my work.
I very much enjoy working with children, and my reasons for becoming a childminder are below:-
My reasons for wanting to become an Ofsted childminder:
A few years ago I was working as an Additional Needs & Speech & Language LSA in a local primary school. I also had the responsibility of on occasions, teaching a whole class of 30+ mainstream children, which did include those with additional needs.
I thoroughly enjoyed this job role, and got a great sense of job satisfaction at the end of each school day.
Whilst doing this job my brother had started his own construction company locally, which he had asked me to provide him with admin services once a week foran hour or two on a Sunday.
This I did, and as the company grew, I found myself working all day at school, and all evenings/weekends at home for my brother.
It came to a stage where he had approached me and asked me if I would make the move full time to an office and work solely for him. I had to make a very hard decision as I really loved working with the children, and had only just gained my Cambridge Diploma in speech and language.
Nevertheless, I chose to be loyal to my brother and went to work for him.
I missed and still do, working with the children.
Two years ago, my daughter was born.
I now need to return to work but do not want to place her into a Nursery or into childcare, as I do not want to miss out on my daughter’s various stages of development, and I enjoy spending valuable time with her.
Therefore, my reasons for wanting to become a childminderare based on all the above:-
